Our teachers are trained to the highest standard by the Swim Teacher’s Association of the UK. They hold up-to-date swim
teaching, lifesaving, rescue, and safeguarding qualifications.
Our class routines emphasize technique development and utilize verbal, visual and tactile corrections that encourage growth.
We combine the latest techniques with our philosophy of squeezing every drop of fun out of every day!
We operate year-round in an indoor heated pool facility. We also run an onsite café for you to enjoy a cappuccino and a sweet treat. Our Story
Bumps to Babes had always been more than just a dream. It was a vision — a place where every swimmer, no matter their age or ability, could feel seen, safe, and supported. A space filled with warmth, care, and inclusivity. After many years of teaching in various private pools, our dream finally took shape in 2019 when Bumps to Babes was built.
We proudly opened our doors on 1 February 2020. But just six weeks later, the world changed — and so did ours. The outbreak of Covid-19 forced us to close, and like so many others, we faced the uncertainty of what would come next. We were shut for months, holding onto hope and leaning into the lessons that time taught us.
In the years that followed, we found our rhythm again and grew into a thriving community. But another unexpected challenge came when new developers purchased the Sandown property. Our original facility was demolished, and once again, we were faced with the daunting task of starting over. What felt like a loss at the time turned into a blessing in disguise. We found a new home — a space that not only met our needs, but allowed us to grow, dream, and serve our swimmers even better.
Looking back, every obstacle became part of our story. A story of resilience, passion, and purpose. Today, we’re proud of our state-of-the-art facility and the incredible community that surrounds it. From our tiniest 3-week-old swimmers to those well into their 90s — every person who walks through our doors is part of something special.
At Bumps to Babes, no matter what life throws our way, we “just keep swimming”.
